One of the most important things you should consider before buying your new all in one printer is the inks it will take. For example some of them have a cartridge which contains all the colours, whereas others take them all individually. The individual ones are the best way to get the most out of each one, but if you want to make the most of your all in one printer it also pays to think about where you will buy them.
For instance if the only place you can get them is online you will need to think about making sure you have a few spares at home all the time. There is nothing worse than finding out you have run out of the ones you need, and not being able to use your printer as a result.
It might pay dividends to check your local shops to see which inks you can buy without any problem. Even if they are more expensive than you would buy online at least you know you can nip out and buy replacements if you should suddenly run out of ink.
Never assume that every shop and website will sell what you need for the same price either. Quite often you will find that some outlets will sell your inks at a cheaper price if you buy a bulk pack. For example if they are all available separately and you buy all of them, it works out cheaper than buying them all individually. Another point to consider is whether you can ask any local shops for a discount if you buy in bulk.
As you can see there are plenty of places you can buy your inks from. If you haven’t yet bought your all in one printer make a note of which inks your top printer choices would take, and see how easy they are to get hold of. Once you know the answer it could influence which one you buy in the first place.
In a sense then the actual printer is only half the story. The more you know about what inks it takes and what supplies it might need, the better armed you will be to make sure you don’t run out of anything. And when you have a lot of printing to do on a regular basis, the last thing you want is to discover you’ve run out of ink.
